I am "off work" starting tomorrow, studying for a week before my exam. The good thing is that tomorrow is an eating day, so my first day will start off with a nice breakfast. I see from Jason's site that he has a similar goal in mind.
One week from Saturday, after all of this is behind me, I will be dusting off my golf clubs and generally slacking off for a while, which will be very nice. I also plan on stepping up the exercise program big time, and try to do an hour a day. After seeing Jason being able to go on vacation and hold his weight loss, it definately got me inspired.
Well time to check on my wife upstairs and have another cup of tea. Looking forward to tomorrow. There is nothing quite like waking up in the morning and realizing that it is an eating day. I know you know what I mean.

I agree George - It always puts a little perk in my step when I know it's an eat day. Was Pirates #2 as good as the first?
About holding your weight-loss while vacationing, just make sure you're on the go nearly every day doing active stuff and you should be okay.
Hope you had a good breakfast. I know I did. I'm still curious about those southern grits. Is that something like corn meal or cream of wheat?
Jason:
Grits are a form of ground corn, but they are considerably coarser than corn meal. They are cooked like oatmeal or cream of wheat on the stove. In the southland, they are normally what you find served with your eggs and sausage or ham instead of hashbrowns. Also another southern delicacy is cheese grits, grits with cheese, which are often served with fried fish. You can tell you are South of the Mason-Dixon line when you get grits for breakfast ( instead of hash-browns ). We normally have them with salt and pepper and butter ( never sugar ) Had some this morning, along with my biscuit.
Well I guess you know I'm a northerner. I like my grits with lots of sugar (splenda is good) and butter. I don't care for cheese grits - my hubby loves them with bacon.
Surprisingly, there is quite a large entry (and an even larger discussion page) about grits on Wikipedia. You Americans take your grits quite seriously. :) I felt inclined to leave a comment about the photo.
